Beam homogenizing & shaping

Beam homogenizers are used to obtain a uniform energy distribution in the illuminated field ("flat-top" or "top-hat"). Refractive beam homogenizers are appropriate for coherent and incoherent radiation independent of the wavelength.
SUSS MicroOptics has different approaches for solving our customers homogenizing issues. Our beam homogenizing product range comprises individual standard and customized microlens arrays that are included as optical components in the customers’ set-up, as well as completely adjusted and tested ready-to-use beam homogenizing systems.

The flat-top types vary according to the type of application and the laser beam parameters. For instance a square flat-top can be used for medical applications such as hair and tattoo removal. A line flat-top is for instance used for laser ablation in laser materials processing. The spot matrix can be used for skin rejuvenation ( medical application) and laser micro maching (laser materials processing) .
